About Us

Valeos is an initiative by Transplants.org, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit.

Organ transplant is the result of society’s most beautiful and generous gift: organ donation. Yet, far too often the potential of these gifts is never fully reached. With more than 100,000 Americans awaiting transplant (and many others never even listed), we believe advancing today’s transplant ecosystem requires both small improvements and bold transformation.

Valeos is a data collaboration initiative by Transplants.org, Inc., a patient-founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit improving outcomes and access for transplant patients. Transplants.org is uniting the transplant community — from candidates, recipients, living donors, and donor families to transplant centers, organ procurement organizations, and industry — to work together to save and improve more lives.

Our approach with Valeos? We’re building the transplant ecosystem’s open data standard and data management system to improve care delivery, unlock new research, and drive innovation. Most importantly, for patients, Valeos will lead to more high-quality and equitable transplants, reduced waitlist times, and improved post-transplant life expectancy and quality of life.
